I watched the film Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot last night. It tells the recovery story of John Callahan. The film shows, quite accurately, what recovery through the 12-Steps of Alcholics Anonymous (AA) looks like. For this alcoholic, that sentiment was underscored in a scene where John’s sponsor, Donnie G., says the following:
Donnie:
Look there’s just four things:
1.) Keep going to meetings. 2.) Read this book I’m giving you. 3.) Don’t drink. 4.) And if you think you’re gonna drink, call me first, never after.

- Include the transcript of Michael Callahan’s final (AA meeting) share from the film Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far on Foot. Add text to the image below:
- Embed YouTube clip of that scene from the film
- My general thoughts on the film: making amends does not equal apologizing, forgive yourself, etc.
